During Alexandra School’s recent Awards Ceremony, Saint Peter’s Bay awarded Clarke with a special plaque and the opportunity to attend the 2010 annual conference of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, in San Antonio, Texas.
The Saint Peter’s Bay Technology Integration Award is given to the teacher who, in the view of the principal, has done the most to integrate technology in the teaching and learning process at the school.
Jeffery Broomes, principal of Alexandra School, explained that he selected the recipient for this year’s award based on the level of technology she has integrated into her actual classes.
He explained that Clarke has shown great vision in the use of technology in every form to enhance her work including computers, the tape recorder, compact discs, public announcement system, radio and television, for the benefit of her students.
“As a teacher, Clarke is developing the requisite skills in areas that seek to promote openness and good values. As a person, she insists on students doing the right thing whenever and wherever they are called upon to represent the school. She is a beacon for all to follow in taking the initiative to integrate technology for positive use and student creative expression,” Broomes said.
Pixie Mahon, who recently joined the Saint Peter’s Bay Sales team, congratulated Clarke on her win, stressing the importance of the award and the company’s ongoing commitment to the school stating: “This is the fourth year Saint Peter’s Bay has sponsored this award, which encourages teachers to integrate technology into their classes and we remain committed to playing our part in the continuous development of this school and the community in general.”
The Saint Peter’s Bay luxury residential community is nearing completion and will be launching sales this month. The company adopted Alexandra School four years ago and continues to support the school as well as other causes in St. Peter where the community is located.
